The VW Caddy is an excellent vehicle for wheelchair conversion. The floor is cut out during conversion, and a new lower floor is welded. The best floors are flat so that the wheelchair passenger can travel in comfort. Unfortunately, a long flat floor is expensive, so a compromise has to be made between the comfort of the wheelchair passenger and the affordability of the converted car.
In our opinion, the Brotherwood conversion of the VW Caddy is the best one. Other conversions are cheaper, but they do not offer a level of comfort and finish.
Since it costs over £5000.00 to convert, a new VW Caddy for wheelchair passenger use and many second-hand wheelchair vehicles are low mileage, buying a second-hand, reasonably priced Brotherwood Caddy makes sense.
Thorntrees Garage currently has 5 used Brotherwood VW Caddys in stock priced from £13,495.00 for the 2011 automatic with 21648 miles To a 2015 manual with 22490 miles at £16,995.00.
